The ongoing war against Ukraine has been shocking us for weeks. At the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden, people from more than forty nations work together in scientific excellence and in a peaceful atmosphere. Research benefits a lot from international cooperation and is not possible without it. We call for an end to the fighting and the opening of rational negotiations. In the unconditional striving for peace and openness for all humans, we assure the people of Ukraine and those brave people in Russia who oppose this war of our solidarity and support.
