Fermiologics is a new startup launched in December 2019 as spin-off company from IFW-Dresden. We develop, produce and distribute scientific equipment with the focus on angle-resolved photoemission spectroscopy.
The founders of BELEKTRONIG are two passionate developers with many years of research experience: Raimund Brünig and Glen Guhr. The two became acquainted while studying in the US in Plymouth Michigan and earned their PhDs a few years later at the Institute for Solid State and Material Research Dresden. During their intensive research, they shared an experience which was to become the starting point for BELEKTRONIG.
ScIDre was founded in 2009 as a spin-off from the Leibniz Institute for Solid State and Materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden). The unique floating zone crystal growth furnace HKZ, which was originally developed at the IFW Dresden to operate under high gas pressures, was transferred as one of the first products to the emerging company. Since then, ScIDre optimized the plant design, completely reworked the control system and sells the apparatus successfully world-wide. Based on the experience in engineering of high pressure and high temperature devices, ScIDre is continuously developing new, innovative instruments for the preparation and execution of crystal growth and other scientific experiments from various areas of solid state and materials research.
Evico magnetics develops instruments for magnetic analysis and imaging as well as novel synthesis tools for functional materials. The company is a spin-off of the Leibniz-Institute for Solid State and Materials Research IFW Dresden. We offer scientific consultancy and expertise on magnetic and hydrogen storage materials. Our main products are magneto-optical Kerr Microscopes for the in-situ observation of magnetic microstructures and measurement of magnetization curves (MOKE magnetometry) as well as High Pressure Milling Vials with a gas temperature monitoring system for the synthesis of magnetic powders and hydrogen storage materials.
INNOXACS – Innovations in Crystal Acoustics – Dr. Manfred Weihnacht is a Saxon company, providing to customers from industry and science independent research service on fundamentals, modeling, and application studies of acoustical phenomena in solids and fluids. Based on a longstanding experience in the fields of acoustoelectronics and materials research, INNOXACS proudly offers to customers broad expertise on different topics in microacoustics.
Evico is a leading manufacturer of materials as well as technical components and systems in the field of high-temperature superconductivity. As a Spin-Off from the Leibniz-Institute of solid state and materials Research Dresden (IFW Dresden) evico has experience of many years in the development of new materials and manufacturing processes. The aim of evico is the industrial implementation of these new technologies.
Systenanix GmbH deals with the development of diagnostics and therapies using filled nanotubes. The company uses an innovative method that integrates iron particles into biocompatible carbon nanotubes. By applying an external magnetic field, the filled nanotubes cause a local temperature increase in the surrounding tissue. Thus, as an example, cancer cells in tissues can be killed selectively.
DSL Dresden Material-Innovation GmbH is an expert in the production of innovative battery grids. Battery grids - there are about 60 in a normal car battery - conduct the current and at the same time function as carriers for the active mass that stores the current. DSL's novel galvanic manufacturing process enables the production of lighter and more corrosion-resistant lead grids compared to those, conventionally produced by the casting- and expanded metal processes.
