Our group is conducting research on surface design strategies for advanced metallic materials, e.g. novel metastable alloys, metallic glasses, nanostructured metals/alloys, beta-type alloys for applications in the fields of biomaterials, materials for magnetics or electrocatalysis. Our project activities span from non-equilibrium metal/alloy synthesis (metallurgical, electrodeposition) with materials characterization via a variety of electrochemical and chemical methods for surface modification and accompanying surface analytical studies up to investigation of relevant properties and functionalities.
